Selecting the Right Height Kitchen Bar Stool
While you are choosing the right design and style, choose the appropriate time on your kitchen bench is essential, for domestic or commercial purposes, it is important to make sure it will fit comfortably on your kitchen counter or bar.
Here is our Danette Guide to Choosing the Right Counter Height Bar Stool
First measure your table, counter or bar from the floor to the base surface. Once you have this measure, we advise that the bank needs to be 250-300mm (10-12 inches) from the base surface. This ensures that there is enough space between the surface and kitchen bar stool itself.
If you want to buy a bench that will meet specifications over time, consider opting for a mechanism with a lifting gas as this will have a variable height. Versions of lifting gas has other benefits like scrolling action making it easier to enter and exit.
Kitchen Counter Height Stools
If you're looking for a stool to fit in a standard height of kitchen counter, we recommend a seat height between 610-670 mm (24 to 26 inches) tall, to fit within the 890-910 mm (35 to 36 inches) counter table.
Bar Height Stools
If you're looking for a stool to fit in a tall bar, we advise you to buy a bank that has a seat height between 710-760 mm (28 to 30 inches) to fit in the 1010-1060 mm (40 to 42 inch) height of the bar table.
High Bar Height
If you are looking for the seat to fit on a high bar, we advise that you buy a bar stool that is 810-860 mm (32-34 inches) to fit in the 1140-1220 mm (45 to 48 inches) tall bar table.
Spacing Banks Your Kitchen
Once you have the correct height stool, you now need to decide how many chairs fit comfortably in the space you have selected. You need to make sure there is enough space between each bank of the kitchen so that people can sit around the counter or bar and not feel overcrowded. We suggest that, for a bar stool of 400-460mm (16-18 inches) wide, you allow 530-560mm (21-22 inches) of space and one that is 480-560mm (19-22 inches) wide, allowing 610 -630 mm (24-25 inches) of space between each seat.
